If you go to the Preferences dialog (Tools -> Add-ons -> Options under gContactSync in the main TB window or gContactSync -> Preferences in the AB window) you should see Synchronize contacts automatically and Initial sync delay. Either uncheck the auto sync option or increase the initial sync delay to several minutes (300000 ms = 5 minutes).
Ouch... I must have had tunnel vision... I thought the initial sync delay was in seconds...So, what exactly does this 'initial delay' do/mean?
If I set it to 4 hours - which would be 14400000 (yuck) - would that keep it from syncing more than once every 4 hours?
Oh, another question - does it sync *only* when the AB is opened? Or will it also sync just when TB is launched?
If your answer is only when the AB is opened, I'll go open a Feature Request to have it sync regardless of when/if the AB is opened.
Note that unchecking auto sync will stop all automatic synchronizations and not just the first sync when the AB is opened.
Yeah, but that's not what I want/need....
At a minimum, we need a way to tell it to not sync more than # times per day.
But what I'd really like is more flexibility - something like:
[X] Autosync
[X] 'Sync [4] times per [day^]'
[X] Minimum Interval: [4] [hours^]
So, with the above, it would sync a *maximum* of once every 4 hours if TB was running all day
This way at a minimum it would sync every morning the first time they opened TB each day (or their AB, depending on your answer to the above question), and a maximum of 4 times per day, and no more often than once every 4 hours.
