Starting with Thunderbird 52.2, ContractPhotos 1.0 basically disable's customization of the message toolbar.  All items are missing except "Separator" and "Space." I can add and edit "new" stuff however once I save and comeback to Customize I cannot change what is there.  The attachment shows basically what I am talking about.

The customization that is shown was done with ContactPhotos disabled.

Thanks,

George

Bugs and Enhancements / Contact Photos Missing
« Last post by gworley on August 19, 2017, 10:53:51 AM »
I accidentally lost my Internet connection while contact photos were downloading from Google to Thunderbird.  Upon re-establishing Internet connection, connection between gContactSync and Google never re-establish and there was never an error displayed from gContactSync.  I had to restart Thunderbird 4 hours later to get the sync started again. Now over 300 contacts do not have photos.  Help.

gContactSync:  3.0.0a5
Thunderbird:  52.3.0

Bugs and Enhancements / Problem with first and last name fields
« Last post by alex-the-g on August 15, 2017, 10:49:40 AM »
We've corporate google account. To get contacts with gContactSync I copy all of them to "my contacts" and sync it.
Most of all is ok, but I got a problem with first name and last name fields.
For instance, I have contact with:
name
first: Константин Викторович
Last: Арефьев
e-mail: k.arefev@mydomain.com

In my Synced contacts it looks like:
name: k.arefev
e-mail: k.arefev@mydomain.com

What's wrong?
How can I solve the issue?

Thanks

Help / Re: Problem syncing new contact created in TB
« Last post by petstarr on August 11, 2017, 06:21:09 PM »
I wonder if this is related to my problem.

If I add a new contact via GContactSync, it shows up OK in my Gmail contacts when I check via the web platform, but it doesn't show up in my phone (I have a Samsunsg S7).

I have worked out that this is because my phone's "Contacts" app has recently stopped recognising new contacts that aren't part of Gmail's "My contacts" group. Older contacts added a long time ago that are NOT part of the "my contacts" group are showing OK, but new additions will only show if they have been given the "My contacts" label.

This isn't a problem if I add a new contact via Gmail web platform, as it automatically adds new entries to the "My contacts" group. But when I add a new contact using GContactSync it doesn't do that, so my phone isn't picking up on them.

I have tried manually dragging new contacts in GContactSync to the "my contacts" folder and syncing but that doesn't seem to do anything. The only way I have found to overcome the problem is to either add all new contacts via Gmail web, or to use Gmailweb to edit new contacts made in GContactSync so they are added to the "my contacts" group.

Anyone know how to overcome this ridiculous problem?

Bugs and Enhancements / Sync doesn't honor the time between sync's
« Last post by gworley on July 27, 2017, 09:07:40 AM »
Version of gsync is 2.0.12
Version of Thunderbird is 53.2.1 (32 bit)
Version of Windows is 10 pro

The timer between sync's doesn't seem to be working.  I have it set to 240 minutes and it seems to sync when it wants to.   Also, when a manual sync is done should reset the timer to automatic sync.

Thanks,

George

There is a bug in this feature.   If contact is edited from an outside source the dummy address is sometimes to most of the time removed.

Thanks,

Help / Problem syncing new contact created in TB
« Last post by NigelF on July 23, 2017, 03:56:57 AM »
When you create a new contact in TB AB and manually sync, gContactsync reports it has updated google contacts. Viewing Google contacts, the new contact doesn't appear in the overall 'Contacts' listing. After some hunting, you find it has been created but placed in a google menu of 'Other Contacts'. In order for it to be visible, you have to move it from Other Contacts to Contacts. Is there some way of ensuring new contacts created are immediately visible in Google contacts or am I doing something wrong?

Help / Can't see all accounts
« Last post by Evil Overlord on July 19, 2017, 04:16:16 PM »
I've used GContactSync without trouble for quite some time. However, on transferring to a new computer, I'm seeing a problem.
I have five Gmail accounts, each of which should sync to a different Thunderbird address book. However, GContactSync 2.0.1.2 only offers me the first, default account. How can I get it to recognize the others? (All accounts work find with Thunderbird itself).

Figured it out - somewhat counter-intuitive. You have to choose GContactSync|*New* account, then choose *Existing* account, then go through Google authentication.
